Shipping, Pickup & Delivery Policy

At Kern River Permaculture, most of what we offer is grown or made in small batches and handled with care. Because of this, the majority of items available on our website are not shipped and are instead offered through scheduled local pickup or local delivery.

Local Pickup (Primary Method)

Most items listed on this site are available for local pickup only.

Pickup details—including date, time, and location—are arranged at the time of purchase or confirmed directly between the buyer and seller. Customers are responsible for arriving at the agreed-upon pickup time.

Due to the perishable nature of fresh produce, items not picked up as scheduled may be forfeited without refund.

Local Delivery (Kern River Valley Only)

We offer local delivery within the Kern River Valley for orders totaling $25 or more (before taxes or fees).

Delivery availability, timing, and any applicable fees will be communicated at checkout or confirmed after the order is placed. Customers are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive perishable items at the time of delivery.

We are not responsible for quality issues resulting from missed deliveries or delayed acceptance.

Shipping (Limited Items Only)

At this time, shipping is limited to select non-perishable, handmade, or digital items only, when clearly stated on the product listing.

If an item is eligible for shipping:

  • Shipping methods, costs, and estimated timelines will be displayed at checkout

  • Processing times may vary due to small-batch production

We do not ship fresh produce or other perishable food items.

Order Responsibility

Once an order has been picked up or delivered, responsibility for the product transfers to the customer. Proper handling and storage of perishable items is the responsibility of the buyer after receipt.
